I love to eat, so I need to exercise. I roller bladed, walked, and weight trained. Unfortunately I started noticing pain in knees, ankles, hands, shoulders and elbows. Stopping the exercise didn't stop the pain. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and instructed to add resistance training. Pilates allowed me to strengthen , support the joints, and stop taking so many medicines. Hooked and wanting to share her love for Pilates with others, I became a certified instructor through Power Pilates. Barre gave me the ability to get my cardio in, as well as stretch, and since I love learning about the body, I became Beyond Barre certified. I have also started running and yoga again, and added cycling (including my first century ride April 2015). I work full time at Texas Mutual Insurance Company as a Systems Analyst, but enjoy traveling, when time allows.
